Time to continue with the numeral hanja we have covered 3; 八, 十 and 九, so far. Time to add another two to that list. We kick things of today with the hanja 七 [칠] for the Sino-Korean number 7. As always there is little to say about numeral hanja, but we’ll give it its own special article nonetheless.
Hanja #22: 七 – 일곱 칠
Like the previous hanja for numerals, this hanja is for the Sino-Korean number. The hanja 七 [칠] represents the number seven. There os little else to say about Korean numbers as always, especially one as simple as this one. It has little use in common vocabulary outside something that is put in a certain order or things you count.
However, like all hanja it can still be used in a first name . Furthermore you can use it with the hanja for 10, 100, 1 000 and 10 000 to create even more numbers. So you will still see plenty of uses of it in everyday life regardless. So it is best not to ignore it completely, isn’t that right?
